1. First of all, it's necessary to double click on the
My Computer icon. It's the start point for accessing
everything from drives to documents. On the left side there
should be the Control panel.
2. Now, the user needs to click on the Control Panel
and a screen will appear from which the user can control a
plethora of aspects regarding the computer, like printers, SSD
drives and many other components.
3. In control Panel the user should look for Printers
and Other Hardware. It not only gives the user access to the
mouse, but also to printers and many other peripherals.
4. Now it's time to select the Mouse icon and through
it, all of the controls and functions of the mouse can be
addressed, that of the touchpad as well. Here the user can
control the sensitivity of the mouse, change what its buttons
do and so on. Wheel control is also available. For dell laptop
disable touchpad the user must go to the Device Settings tab
where a list of the current pointing devices will appear.
5. The touchpad must be selected from this tab and the
user has to ensure that it is highlighted. It means that the
correct device will get to be disabled.
6. Clicking Disable will disable the touchpad. After
the user will click on it, a message will pop up asking if the
user is certain about taking this action and "OK" should be
clicked in order for the task to be completed. The touchpad
has been successfully disabled at this point.
Having a mouse and a touchpad working at the same time
can be very troublesome and there are not rare the cases when
the users will use the keyboard and accidentally slide them on
the touchpad too. This is very annoying, especially for those
who are chatting or writing their homework on their laptop or
just doing their job as content freelancers.
Last but not
least, it's always appropriate to have the dell laptop disable
touchpad action completed if an external mouse will be used.
This will ensure that there will be no accidental uses of it
which will hamper the user and even cause some unexpected
situations that can only frustrate users.
